FAQ

The following would be signs of a roof system problem:

  • Leaks
  • Moisture
  • Cracked shingles
  • Missing shingles
  • Curling shingles
  • Buckling shingles
  • Visible signs of aging Buckling in membrane
  • Alligatoring
  • Cracks and open seams
Depending on the type of roof system, there are different options when it comes to doing a reroof. We recommend consulting with a professional to go over all options to see which best suits your needs and your budget.
That would depend on the type of leaks. A single roof leak can be a localized area which would not require a complete replacement. Multiple leaks with signs of roof damage could mean it is time to replace your roof. You also must take into consideration the lifespan on your roof as well.
We personally do not advise on fixing your own roof. Attempting to fix your roof without having the proper knowledge can not only be unsafe for you but can also cause more damage to your roof.
Roof systems – typical lifespan:

  • Flat roof membrane: 25-year lifespan
  • Shingle roof system: 25-year lifespan
  • Slate and tile roofs: 50-year lifespan
  • Wood shake roof system: 30-year lifespan
Gutter cleaning is generally recommended twice a year, however that depends on the type of foliage near your home in which case your gutters should be cleaned every three months to keep from build up and overflow.
If your siding is showing signs of fading, cracking, peeling, rotting, warping, holes, or becomes loose it is time to replace your siding.
Siding protects your home from elements and inclement weather. It also improves your homes energy efficiency by keeping your home properly insulated. Siding also presents a nice curb appeal to the property.
